Meet the Apprentices...

Ramone Morgan

Role: Apprentice Building Services Engineer
Team: LG, London
Joined TB+A: September 2014

Why did you decide on an apprenticeship?
I wanted to continue learning and gain experience within the engineering field of work, so decided to leave school after completing my GCSE’s, as I felt that experience is just as important as further education and with an apprenticeship you get both.

What interested you about Building Services Engineering?
Building services isn’t as noticed as others within the design field such as architects but building services is what brings a building to life so we are just as important when working on projects.

Why TB+A?
I attended various interviews when applying for my apprenticeship but TB+A was definitely the best company I had been offered to go to. Everyone was really friendly and the environment seemed more welcoming and personable. I met our Managing Partner, Neil Weller at my second interview and found him to be very approachable and a real inspiration to my goals and targets in life. I am very glad with my decision and cant imagine being elsewhere.

What’s your favourite thing about working at TB+A?
All of the team at TB+A ensure that you understand issues and problems that are new to you to ensure that you learn at each step of the way. The location of the TB+A London office is also perfect and I enjoy playing TB+A 5 a-side football.

Top tip for newbie apprentices?
Stay focused that’s key, if you lose focus it will be harder for you to learn new things as there is a lot to learn! Also, join the 5 a-side football team, we always need new players!

Biggest challenge?
Keeping up with various tight deadlines, one was 250 drawings needing to be printed and folded in the space of 30 minutes, that was a challenge!

What projects are you currently working on?
I am working on various residential projects within London.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?
10 years from now I can see myself finishing my degree and soon becoming a chartered engineer.

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself?
I'm an actor. I have been in a few TV shows and Movies, most recently Dr. Who. I also used to be an amateur boxer between the ages of 8-13 and had 7 bouts, won 4 and lost 3.

What is your favorite building and why?
My favorite building is my house as I find it cozy and relaxing.
